FIN

So I have officially finished my first year of studying at QUT, and after a rather noneducational experience, the single thing I learnt is that my true desire is to work within the design industry. Therefore, I will begin studying a bachelor of applied design (communication) which is Billy blue college of design's fancy way of saying graphic design in March next year.
After seeing my well and truly missed best friend, Niki, as well as the incredible Arctic Monkeys in early January I will be setting off to Tokyo, Japan for two weeks and making my way over to Seoul, South Korea for one week with a bunch of lovely people including my boyfriend Joel.
I'll definitely be posting some beautiful photos here in February!

Here are those pictures from tonight's magazine launch. It was nice to meet some lovely new people and see reactions to my work! Overall, it was a nice night.

SEAM MAGAZINE

So, tonight is the night I take some giant (1200x1200cm) artworks into a bar in the city for Seam magazine's launch party. I pretty much finished them yesterday but still have some little details to add and some hooks to put on the backs. I am not entirely pleased with them and that makes me nervous, but there isn't much I can do now.
I'll post some pictures here later on.

JINX

I don't want to send lady luck into a frenzy and have her jinx me (which seems to happen often), but I'm dying to gloat to the internet world. I sent an email to Seam magazine in the hopes of them liking my work and wanting me to participate in some little illustrations for the first issue. But to my surprise they liked my work enough to ask me to create three pieces that will be featured at the launch!  There are two other artists working on things for the launch as well, so I'm eager to see how I stack up.

I'm quite nervous about the whole thing, considering I'm in my first year of art school and getting pass grades for my work. However I think maybe I unintentionally offended my tutor and shes holding the mother of all grudges and sabotaging me. Or, it could be that I don't show up and slack off too often, either way.
Anyway, I cant wait to start working with new people and find out more about the magazine! Wish me luck.
